Aftercare Following Fraxel Treatment
This treatment delivers fine laser beams to renew the skin through regeneration. During the downtime while your skin rebuilds after treatment, strictly follow the instructions below to achieve the best regenerative effect.
🧼 Cleansing and Makeup
You may gently wash your face starting the day after treatment. Lather cleansing foam well and cleanse gently by patting the skin rather than rubbing it. To minimize irritation, we recommend makeup from 3 days after treatment, using light products without irritating ingredients.

☀️ Soothing Heat and Managing Swelling
For 3–5 days after treatment, your skin may become red, feel burning hot and swell. If the warmth or swelling is severe, place clean gauze over your skin and apply an ice pack over it to lower the skin temperature and soothe the area.

💡 Shedding of Flakes and Tiny Scabs (Important Precaution)
After 2–3 days, tiny black scabs may form and your skin may feel rough. This is a normal recovery process in which new skin grows and pushes out dead cells. Never pick off scabs or flakes by hand or remove them artificially with a scrub. This can leave scars or hyperpigmentation; all flakes should fall off naturally in about 1 week.

💧 Intensive Moisturizing and Recovery Care
Fraxel applies heat energy directly to microscopic thermal zones in the skin, making it extremely dry. To maximize regeneration and protect the damaged skin barrier, apply moisturizer and recovery cream thickly, using at least 2–3 times your usual amount, and reapply them frequently.
☀️ Sun Protection and Avoiding External Irritation
During the regeneration stage, when new skin is forming, UV exposure can cause severe post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) and is very risky. Apply sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher thoroughly every day, even indoors and whether or not you go outside. Wear a hat or mask as well during outdoor activities.

🚫 Daily Precautions and Avoiding Irritating Ingredients
For 1 week after treatment, avoid activities that raise skin temperature, including saunas, heated spas, half-body baths, strenuous exercise, alcohol and smoking. Also stop using cosmetics with irritating ingredients, such as retinol (a vitamin A derivative), functional whitening products and high-concentration vitamin C, for at least 2 weeks.
